Warning Description: Flood Warning

Warning Date: 9:38 PM EST on February 08, 2010

WarningSum:


Warning Message:The Flood Warning continues for
  the upper Santee river at trezesvants Landing.
* Until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8 PM Monday the stage was 83.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 80.0 feet. 
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. 
* Forecast...the river will continue rising to near 83.8 feet   
  tomorrow late morning.
938 PM EST Mon Feb 08 2010
The Flood Warning extended for
  the Congaree River at Carolina Eastman.
* Until Saturday morning...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 6 PM Monday the stage was 123.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 115.0 feet. 
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. 
* Forecast...the river will continue to fall...going below flood 
  stage by late Friday morning.
* At 124.0 feet...extensive flooding occurs at the Carolina Eastman 
  facility with some access roads flooded. Extensive farmland 
  flooding occurs in the area.

* Until Wednesday evening...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8 am Monday the stage was 24.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet. 
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. 
* Forecast...the river will continue to fall...going below flood 
  stage by tomorrow night.
* At 24.0 feet...several homes in the Sandy Run subdivision along the 
  river become flooded.

Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a
* Flood Advisory for
  the Congaree River at Columbia.
* Until Wednesday evening.
* At  6 PM Monday the stage was 17.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Forecast...the river will rise to crest at 18.9 feet this evening.
* Advisory stage is 10.0 feet.
* At 19.0 feet...extensive swampland and large areas of farmland and 
  pasture land downstream from Columbia become flooded.

WarningSum:...Lake Wind Advisory In Effect From 7 Pm Tuesday To 7 Pm Est
Wednesday...

Warning Message:Low pressure and a cold front will cross the area Tuesday evening.
Behind the front winds will quickly increase as the pressure
gradient tightens and strong winds aloft mix down to the surface.
Winds under 10 knots in the early evening will quickly become 20
knots with gusts to 30 knots by midnight and increase to 20 to 25
knots with gusts to 35 knots Wednesday. Wednesday evening the
winds will begin to subside. 
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
